Build 04 · Kitchen & Baking
Ripple Eclair Pops.
We watched a show, she picked a treat, and I turned it into a real project.
— her poster. her research. her handwriting.
Research, then cook A poster, then a presentation An afternoon to bake Pastry, chocolate, ice cream
Why we tried it.
We were watching Nadia Bakes on Netflix — one of those shows where somebody just makes something beautiful and you can't look away. She saw Nadia make an eclair pop, and that was it. She wanted to make one too.
I didn't want to just hand her a recipe, though. So I turned it into a project instead of a treat — something she'd have to work for before she got to eat it.
the treat was the hook. the project was the point.
How the project actually went.
It was never really about the ingredients. She could've just read them off a box. What made this a project was everything around them — five steps, each with its own real photo, not just this one.
-
one
Research it.
She researched it herself first — the ingredients, the method, how a pastry actually turns into a popsicle — before anyone touched an oven. No handed-over recipe.
not our actual table — just the mood of it.
-
two
Draft it, rough.
Pencil on paper, working out what she'd learned in her own handwriting — misspellings and all. This is where it started.

-
three
Build the poster.
And this part was her call, not mine: she broke it into sections on purpose — ingredients on one side, numbered instructions on the other, her own drawing in the middle. That's a presentation decision, not just copying the draft over.

same recipe, ready to present.
-
four
Present it.
Stood up, walked us through it, like a real pitch — before a single ingredient came out of the fridge. Her poster, from the top of this page, was what she presented.
-
five
Bake it.
Then, finally, we made it — and it didn't come out exactly like her drawing. The ripple got a little messy, the dip went rustic instead of clean.

that's the fun part.
the poster was the project. baking it was just the last step.
Take it with you
The Project.
The whole framework, four steps — research, poster, present, bake — with her real recipe built in as the worked example, plus a page to design your own pop. Print one for every kitchen.
